On May 13, 2022, SLOI Community Outreach Program with Pastor Anderson at RRT teaching martial arts.

On August 12, 2021, I participated on my last day at the Seeds of Hope Day Camp. I did some abdominal and cardio exercises with the youths. Their involvement was well noted, and their enthusiasm was praised for their effort in getting through the challenging movements. At the conclusion of the session, I handed out gift cards to several of the participants, and was given a thank you poster that was designed by the campers. I was moved by the gesture and expressed my thanks to the group. Working with the younger generation at Seeds of Hope Day Camp was a wonderful experience and I look forward to working with them in the future. 

On August 5, 2021, Grandmaster Seymour Creighton, 9^th degree blackbelt, 5-time world champion in Taekwondo, and Pastor Anderson, who is a student of Mr. Creighton, taught the campers self-defense and fighting techniques, discipline, and how to deal with bullies. Mr. Creighton told the campers to focus on their education and the importance of learning how to defend themselves. He stressed the importance of learning how to walk away from bullies, which comes with discipline and restraint. The youths were very receptive to the teaching and were highly involved. 

On July 29, 2021, we had a guest speaker, Reverend Harry Paul, and his wife, attend the camp to speak to the youths about the Bible. The campers were receptive to the hearing of the Word from an ordained man of God.

Pastor Anderson and his son Mr. Daniel Anderson  coordinated a Taekwondo demonstration with the kids’ participation at St. Charles Garnier Catholic School. The event went on for approximately 1.5 hours. The youths showed their eagerness to participate in the demonstrations and had fun while doing so. This is the 4^th week since my involvement with the campers. The plan for August 5, 2021 is to introduce Mr. Seymour Creighton, 9^th degree black belt, to the youths for more in-depth techniques and self-defenses skills. 

Pastor Anderson invited Mr. Dexter Delves, a kickboxing champion, personal trainer, and the owner of “Body by Dex” to teach a session of kickboxing and exercise for the campers. The youths were very excited throughout the entire activity and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Several of the campers received t-shirts that were given out by Dexter. Pastor Anderson noted that he received a call from the camp coordinator that the campers were asking for Mr. Dexter to return.

Pastor Anderson invited Mr. Rayon Morgan, an ex-police officer, to be a guest speaker at the Seeds of Hope Summer Camp. Mr. Morgan spoke to the campers about not getting into trouble with the law, staying out of trouble and staying in school. It was clear that the youths were well entertained and informed by him through their many questions that they asked.

Pastor Michael Anderson attended the Seeds of Hope Summer Camp operated by Youth Unlimited in the Jane and Finch area. Pastor Anderson coordinated a solo marital arts demonstration for the youths attending the day camp. As a 1st degree black belt and a bronze medalist in the World Taekwondo Championship, Pastor Anderson educated the campers on the principles of Taekwondo while performing moves and encouraging the participation of every youth in the program. Several of the campers received Timmy’s gift cards that were given out by Pastor Anderson.
